One day at a time…
Hey you guys! How are you? (Pls respond in the comments below).
Let’s catch up since my last post was in August. I don’t know what I want to talk about. I just know that I want to talk. I miss blogging and taking up space on my corner of the internet. I can share that this year has been an emotional rollercoaster. I’ve experienced heartbreak, which I am finally beginning to let go of. Release. What a release. Maybe I should call it the great release. Because little do you know, it’s been absolute hell for me. Maybe I will share more one day. But for now, know that I am taking things step by step and day by day until I am on the other side of this thing. I do want to talk about mental health. That is what this platform is meant for - mental health and spirituality. It’s always been what I’ve had in mind. How is your mental health? I can say that I am working on mine. It’s an everyday constant battle. Something I will work on forever.
Being in Mississippi for a month has me rethinking what home means to me. For the past two years, home has been Seattle (I love the PNW). If you know me, then you know I wear a gold-plated 601 necklace daily. It never comes off. I’m hardly home, but always repping. Mississippi is home. Always have been, always will be. However, I’m learning that home is starting to mean something different to me. It’s beginning to be more about peace and less about a physical location. Home can be anywhere as long as there’s peace and love there. That’s all I need. Peace and love above everything. I am learning that I can go anywhere and still be okay.
I feel my spark coming back (I miss her). Slowly but surely. And I am looking forward to the woman that I am becoming. I recorded two podcast episodes with friends already. The world will hear them soon. I plan to edit them and post them once I return to Seattle. Season 2 of the Soulfully Uplifted podcast will be more of my baby than anything has been. This season is so personal. I want so much more for myself. I deserve that. I am seeking more. I do want to get into content creation. I just know that I did not buy my camera for nothing. I want to create community and share my thoughts and feelings with the universe. There’s so much to come. And I welcome every bit of it. Lord knows I need it.
Why you’re here…Do you listen to Baby Rose? I am obsessed with her and her essence. She has been getting me through. Her and the Sisters Who Kill Podcast. Marah and Taz have been my girls, and I tune in daily to get my true crime fix. I honestly would recommend that podcast to anyone. The storytelling is so captivating and comforting. On days when my thoughts are racing and roaming, I simply put on a podcast episode and get lost in it. It is soul-healing.
I do have a question for you guys…what are you interested in seeing from me? I am interested in continuing my podcast and bringing film into the mix. However, is there anything specific you are interested in seeing or knowing? Are you interested in my daily life at home and at work? Are you interested in specific topics from the blog? I have a few thoughts, but I also want to ensure that I am not missing anything from the community.
I have goals to get more focused on myself and what makes me happy, which include furthering my creative interests and endeavors. I hope to build with you while I am on this journey. XOXO talk soon…
